Ginger Blossoms in the Park

I have tons of cards and other projects to make for workshops classes and swaps but, I felt like I just needed a to take a few minutes to make something for myself and recharge the creative juices! I have been trying to start a scrapbook of my babe for oh...how old is she...20 months!! So I pulled out some of the supplies I've just been dying to use and decided to scrap a couple of my favourite pics from last summer. This is Gabrielle in the park with her Papa.

The base is a lovely piece of Groovy Guava textures CS which I randomly stamped with the flower from the Friendship Blooms free SAB set ( I just love this one!) in Groovy guava Classic ink. On the left hand side I added a strip of paper from the Ginger Blossom DSP (I really love this too!)

The photos were mounted on a small chocolate chip mat. The top one was then layered on a piece of ruby red cs and the bottom on a peice of river rock cs. Both layers were stippled and the corners were rounded using my corner rounder punch. The ribbon around the ruby red cs is regal rose 5/8" grosgrain (yes that is a pink...I am learning to embrace that colour since Gabby was born!)

And finally, I have a new love, SU! Rub-Ons!!! I was really sceptical and could not imagine why a person would ever use such a thing especially on cs... well I was wrong...I guess I'll have to eat my words because I love them!! Almost all of the white and chocolate chip floral designs on this page are from the free SAB Love and Happiness Rub ons pack. Notice how the easily glide over layers of cs (even the textured stuff) and add a pop to the photos.

The journaling on this page was done on very vanilla and chocolate chip cs punched out with my scallop circle punch. Eyelets were added to each one and they were hung using hemp from a piece of chocolate chip cs shaped with the rounded tab punch. The chip board heart on the very vanilla scallop was sponged with ruby red classic ink and adhered using a glue dot. The white journaling and doodling was done using the Signo white gel pen from SU!

Thanks for looking, I hope my description made sense. I would love to read your comments!
