Fairy Tale Bride

I got a last minute invite to a very special wedding. It had a celtic theme, the bride was French and Irish while the kilt wearing groom was Irish and Scottish. To honour their theme I went with a fairytale feel on this card. I was really excited to finally pull out my 'Le Jardin' Designer Series Paper, especially since the piece I chose was covered with soft fleur de lis. Perfect for our French bride!

The base of this card was a piece of Close to Cocoa CS, this layer (and all the others) was sponged with Close to Cocoa classic ink. The next layer is the lovely fleur de lis paper from Le Jardin by SU! the corners were shaped using my ticket corner punch.

The ovals were cut using my Coluzzle cutting system. The base oval was cut from vellum and then scalloped using a corner rounder punch with the guides removed. The top oval is again Close to Cocoa CS that was sponged this time with Close to Cocoa ink then lightly with chocolate chip and whisper white inks to add depth. The bride silhouette is from the stamp set called "She's All That" which will be available through the SU! Occasions Mini catalogue on March 1st. I love this set it's so much fun to work with!! The bride was stamped with a thick layer of Whisper White craft ink and then embossed using Iridescent Ice EP. She really glitters IRL.

The final touch I added to this card is the 'ribbon' on the bottom of the card. This is actually another piece of the Le Jardin paper that was sponged and slipped through a flower ribbon slide. The ribbon slide is from the new styled silver Hodgepodge Hardware set which will also be available on March first. I think I will really need to get the Pretties kit because, a couple of those little half pearls would have been the perfect finish!

Oh and I almost forgot, I used the greeting "Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, Love gives us a fairytale" from the great new greetings set Full of Life" again coming in the Occasions Mini. Did you know that all the stamp sets in the mini are die-cut? This is awesome, it means your stamps are ready to go in minutes and no sticky scissors!
